Traditional Home – Quotes owner of Le Décor Français on Madeleine Castaing

By takeaboo

I was inspired by this recent article in Traditional Home about Madeleine Castaing. “Nothing in her houses or the shop was perfect, though,” says Castaing admirer Jacqueline Coumans, the owner of Le Décor Français, a popular New York City design boutique. “The lampshades were a bit crooked, the fabric was a bit faded, but it was how she lived. She was not obsessed by perfection in decoration; she was obsessed by poetry in decoration.”

This is a sentiment that we believe in at our shop. Martin is always encouraging customers to be eclectic and to avoid “matchy-matchy” decor. Plus, any article these days on France gets me excited about our trip to France.
